At The Golden Boot for S/S2012 we have introduced a range of Children’s Campers shoes and sandals. The Kids collection includes ballet pumps in sweet pinks and purples, already popular they make perfect party wear. For boys there is a range of casual trainers in contemporary designs.

For the summer our Camper designs include some fantastic children’s sandals in colourful leathers. Camper shoes are famous for their quality, product design and function, and inspired by the spirit of adventure making great children’s shoes.

Camper was established in Majorca 1877 by Antonio Fluxa, it still remains in the same family and is now lead by the fourth generation. They draw on their Mediterranean knowledge of leather craft to design and produce quality footwear and quirky advertising to become a global brand, Camper is sold in over 70 countries.

How do Camper fit?

— We find that Camper are quite wide but a little short. In store we find that we often have to go a size bigger to find the perfect fit.

Are Camper sandals adjustable?

— For Summer 2012, all our Camper open toed sandals (Bicho) are adjustable across the width as well as at the ankle. Camper Peu, a closed in style does not have an adjustable strap across the foot.

Do Camper come in half sizes?

— Campers are made in European sizes and so unfortunately do not come in half sizes. As they come up small we would recommend for you to go up rather than down a size.

Do Camper shoes come in width fittings?

— No Camper shoes do not come in different widths, every style is slightly different and so some may be more suitable for your child’s feet. Some Camper sandals have adjustable straps across the foot making them suitable for most feet.

Are Camper shoes leather lined?

— Some styles are fully leather lined like Right and Pelotas in grey.
Pelota in brown is partly leather lined at the heel.
Imar is not leather lined.
The sandals Peu, and bicho both have suede insoles

Where are Camper shoes made?

— Camper shoes are made in Spain.

Has Camper won any awards?

— The Camper brand has won some prestigious awards including the Spanish National Design award, celebrating their contribution to Spanish business.

Who is Antonio Fluxa?

— Antonio Fluxa was a skilled cobbler who started Camper, he employed the best leather craftsmen in his local area. The company has remained in the same family to this day and Antonio’s son was actually born in the shoe factory.

What does Camper mean?

— “Camper” means “peasant” in Catalan.
